Samoan international agrees to join Exeter
Samoan international Garrick Cowley has become the latest player to join Guinness Premiership new-boys Exeter.
The 28-year-old scrum-half has spent last season at Esher, helping the club gain promotion into the Championship, while he previously played for Bay of Plenty in New Zealand and Bourg en Bresse in France.
Cowley, who has been capped four times by Samoa, will now team up with the Chiefs ahead of their debut season in the top-flight.
And Exeter head coach Rob Baxter believes Cowley's hunger to succeed will be a bonus for the Chiefs.
Baxter told the club's official site: "Garrick will bring a good deal of experience and intelligence to the squad. Garrick has played to a high standard in New Zealand and has won several international caps.
"He has had a very successful season with Esher and has been a guiding hand in the way they play as well as being an individual threat to the opposition.
"He is desperate to get back to full-time rugby and to show that he can compete with the best players in the country."
