Hooker Matt Thompson insists he wants to finish his career at Newcastle after he agreed a new deal with the club,
The 28-year-old has worked his way through junior ranks at Newcastle and is currently enjoying a fine run of form.
And Thompson is delighted to have agreed a new contract to remain at Kingston Park.
"I've been here for nearly ten years now and this is where I want to finish my career," said Thompson.
"It means everything to represent Newcastle. I played for Newcastle Gosforth when I was six and ever since then I have always wanted to play for Newcastle Falcons.
"I'm nice and settled up here with a new family so it was a very easy decision to make."
Falcons find themselves embroiled in a relegation fight - with the club just two points off bottom club Leeds although they do have a game in hand.
However with Leeds set to visit on Saturday, Thompson knows a positive result is vital to their survival hopes.
"We've got to stay in this league and we will do that so hopefully a win on Saturday will move us a step closer to that," he said.
