Samoa international joins Championship club for next season
Bristol have completed the signing of Samoa international Fautua Otto ahead of their 2011/12 Championship campaign.
The 25-year-old, who can play at either centre or wing, made his Samoa debut in June 2010 and has gone on to win five Test caps for his country.
He played against England at Twickenham last November, coming off the bench to score a late try in the 26-13 defeat.
Otto also shone during the 2010 IRB Sevens World Series, which saw Samoa claim their first title in the event, and is in contention for a place in this year's World Cup squad.
"I've followed Tua on the World Sevens Series for a few years," Bristol head coach Liam Middleton said.
"He has been an instrumental part of a very successful Samoan Sevens side, so when we started to look for an outside centre, he was my first target.
"It is very likely that he will go to the World Cup in New Zealand, so we won't have him for first month of the season.
"However, he will bring his World Cup experience to Bristol when he returns in October and that will be valuable to us."
