New signing impressed by potential and eager to make a mark
Australian flanker Henry Vanderglas has expressed his excitement at joining Bristol following his move from ACT Brumbies.
Vanderglas arrived in England on Monday after agreeing terms with the club and has enjoyed adapting to the new surroundings at the team's Clifton training base.
"I am so impressed with the ambition of Liam (Middleton) and the coaching staff," he told the club's official site.
"The training facilities are excellent and there is so much potential here. I've been keeping an eye on Bristol for a while now and I'm really pleased that the team is performing well.
"The club has a great history and they're playing some really exciting rugby.
"I spoke to Liam about the values and culture before I joined and I'm looking forward to being a part of that."
Competitive
Vanderglas, a fixture in the Australia Sevens side, understands that he will have to work hard to secure a regular first-team place.
"I realise what a competitive squad Bristol have," added the 25 year-old. "I'll have to perform consistently well to break into the side.
"It will take some time to get used to the style and the conditions but I am looking forward to the challenge.
"Liam and the coaching staff have strong aspirations and I can't wait to meet the squad and get involved."
