Winger set for prolonged stay on sidelines after second operation
Nottingham winger Rhys Crane has suffered a further setback in recovering from his broken jaw after he had a second operation.
The 26-year-old suffered the injury just two minutes into his debut for the RFU Championship side against Esher in December.
Crane, who had only just returned after 10 months out of action with a knee, had an operation at the time to repair the damage but the club's medical staff were unhappy with the way it had healed.
And the former Bath and Sale back now faces another month out following his latest bout of surgery.
"The reality is that he's already had it done and it's just not healed correctly," Nottingham director of rugby Glenn Delaney told the club's official site.
"We have some fantastic experts here in Nottingham and they looked at it and said it's not good enough.
"Rhys can play, he's a great talent but the frustrating thing is that we've only had him on the field for over a minute."
