South African facing surgery on hamstring

Gerhard Vosloo will miss Clermont's double challenge after he suffered a hamstring injury against Montpellier on Friday night. The South African flanker has made 20 appearances since arriving in the summer from Brive, playing a key role as Clermont booked semi-final places in the Top 14 play-offs and the Heineken Cup. However Vosloo, who has had previously spells at Castres and the Lions, was forced off 20 minutes into the 22-9 win over Montpellier. Vosloo will now undergo surgery to repair the damage in a bid for the 32-year-old to be fit in time for the start of next season. Clermont also have doubts over fellow flanker Julien Bardy, who had come off the bench to replace Vosloo at the Stade Marcel Michelin. Bardy damaged his elbow with 17 minutes left - with the 27-year-old subsequently making way for Loic Jacquet.
