Avivia Premiership: London Welsh determined to solve funding situation

London Welsh are refusing to give up their fight to level out revenue distribution in the Aviva Premiership.
The Premiership's basement club threatened league organisers with legal action earlier this month if they continued to resist the Exiles' demands to level the playing field.
Promoted clubs currently receive £1.5m from central Premiership funding as opposed to more established sides receiving £4m, but any who manage to avoid relegation in their first season become eligible for full funding.
Welsh, who have secured just one point from their first 13 games, believe the current system prevents promoted teams from establishing themselves in the division, hence chairman Bleddyn Phillips' stance.
The club stepped back somewhat from that legal threat in a statement released on Friday, but they have pledged to keep agitating for change.
"The board of London Welsh voted unanimously on Thursday to emphasise its commitment to securing an appropriate resolution to the issues it has raised with the RFU and PRL," read a Welsh statement.
"We want to take this forward in a positive and constructive manner to secure an equitable outcome not just for London Welsh but for any club with the ambition of promotion to the Premiership.
"The club will continue to press diligently and purposefully to secure such resolution and looks forward to the meeting with the PRL executive and club chairmen on February 4 where our proposal will be discussed and we understand a formal PRL response will be determined."
