Tonga international forced to announce retirement
Tonga international Epi Taione has been forced to retire because of a serious knee injury.
Taione, who numbers Newcastle, Sale, Natal Sharks, Harlequins and Racing Metro among his former clubs, has been at Championship side London Welsh since summer 2010.
The 32-year-old won 18 caps for Tonga and six for the Pacific Islanders and played in the 1999 and 2007 World Cups.
"I'm very sad to be leaving behind a career I love. Rugby is all I have known for the past 15 seasons or so," said Taione.
