Toulon sign Matthew Carraro as injury replacement for Ayumu Goromaru

Toulon have signed Australian back Matthew Carraro.

The 32-year-old joins the French Top 14 side as a medical joker to replace injured Japan full-back Ayumu Goromaru.

Carrarro, who is currently playing for Super Rugby side Waratahs, will act as Goromaru's replacement until he returns to full fitness.

The Australian started his career at Brumbies before having spells at Canberra Vikings, Bath and in France with Montpellier for the 2012-13 season.

Carraro could make his debut on Sunday, as Toulon kick-off their French Top 14 campaign against Bayonne, live on Sky Sports 4.
