Former Munster coach Tony McGahan has been appointed as assistant coach of the Queensland Reds on a two-year deal.
McGahan left the Rebels after four years in charge at the end of an abysmal 2017 campaign where the Melbourne club lost 13 of their 15 fixtures and finished bottom of the Australian conference.
He will join another struggling franchise in the Reds, who managed only four wins under head coach Nick Stiles.
"Being a born and bred Queenslander, joining the Reds is something that has always appealed to my coaching ambitions," said McGahan.
"We've been away from Brisbane for 13 years, coaching in different parts of the world so to come home and settle into life in Brisbane and coaching at Ballymore sits well with myself and the family."
Stiles added: "Tony is a proven coach with results in various competitions around the world.
"He's someone who brings the right attitude and experience and will be a great fit for the Reds."
