Scotland will have a chance to avenge their heartbreaking World Cup defeat to Australia when the teams meet next autumn.

The Scots lost 35-34 in the quarter-finals in controversial circumstances, referee Craig Joubert awarding Australia a last-minute penalty which Bernard Foley kicked, and the Aussies went on to reach the final.

Scotland will also face World Cup semi-finalists Argentina and in a historic first - Georgia.

Vern Cotter's men take on the Wallabies at Murrayfield on Saturday, November 12 and the Pumas, who they beat 41-31 in last November's internationals, a week later.

The Georgians, who were so impressive at the World Cup, will play at Murrayfield for the first time the following week.

Scotland have played Georgia just once before, beating them 15-6 at the 2011 World Cup.

"We have had many fantastic matches against Australia and Argentina in the past and we're looking forward to more of the same when they come to Edinburgh next year.

"The Georgians won over thousands of new fans with their performances in the Rugby World Cup, defeating Namibia and Tonga to take them from tournament debutants in 2003 to securing automatic qualification as one of the top 12 teams in RWC 2019.

"I'm sure they'll get a great reception when they come to Scotland for the first time for this historic Test."
