Scarlet winger calls on team-mates to follow-up Springbok success

Sean Lamont has urged his Scotland team-mates to maintain the standards they set in last weekend's memorable victory over South Africa when they take on Samoa on Saturday. The Scots bounced back from a humiliating 49-3 loss to New Zealand with a morale-boosting 21-17 victory over South Africa, but face another test of their credentials on Saturday when they take on Samoa in Aberdeen this weekend. Lamont is acutely aware of the quality Samoa possess, having come up against Alesana Tuilagi of Leicester and Seilala Mapusua of London Irish during his spell at Northampton. "They've got a lot of quality players," the winger stated. "They've been close in every game they've played. No way can we rest on our laurels. "We're here now, we've got a job to do this weekend against Samoa. "We've got to front up like we did against South Africa - and more." Lamont made his debut against Samoa in 2004 and six years on will win his 50th cap on Saturday. "I started with a win against Samoa, let's hope we can mark 50 with a win against Samoa," added the 29-year-old Scarlets back. Scotland could claim a fifth win from six matches should they emerge triumphant, but Robinson has told his side to move on from the Springboks triumph and focus on defeating the Pacific islanders. "We've got to get rid of the South African performance and, like we did the week before, learn the lessons of how we can improve and then focus on what we've got to do to beat Samoa," Robinson declared. "It's always important to focus on the next game and international rugby is about winning."
