Cockbain to miss Autumn Tests

Wales and Ospreys lock Brent Cockbain has been suspended for 20 days for stamping.

Ospreys lock Brent Cockbain has been suspended for 20 days for stamping, ruling him out of Wales' first three autumn internationals.

The Australian-born 31-year-old's ban ends on November 20, but he will almost certainly not be selected for Wales' final Test against New Zealand on November 25 due to a lack of match fitness.

An independent disciplinary committee found Cockbain guilty of stamping on Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe during the Ospreys' 17-16 Heineken Cup victory over Sale on October 20.

The ban will rule him of the Tests against Australia, the Pacific Islanders and Canada.

The Lions forward has not played Test rugby for almost a year because of a hamstring injury sustained against Fiji last November.
