Wales hooker believes Jones has a glittering future
Wales hooker Matthew Rees has backed Rhodri Jones to make a big impact ahead of his eagerly-awaited Test debut.
Although the 21-year-old has spent his formative professional rugby with the Scarlets at loosehead prop, Jones will win his first Wales cap as tighthead in Saturday's Millennium Stadium encounter against the Barbarians.
And Rees, who will captain Wales this weekend, has predicted a glittering future for his Scarlets team-mate.
"Fair play to Rhodri, he is willing to learn," Rees said. "For me, with his frame, he is an ideal tighthead.
"It is not going to come overnight, and the only way he is going to get better is by playing.
"He has definitely got potential to be a world-class tighthead as far as I am concerned, and I am looking forward to seeing him play on Saturday."
