Reihana injury worry for Saints
Northampton captain Bruce Reihana suffered a knee injury against Gloucester.
Northampton captain Bruce Reihana suffered a knee injury during his side's 28-7 Guinness Premiership defeat against Gloucester at Kingsholm. The New Zealander lasted just eight minutes before limping off and could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines if he requires surgery.
Saints director of rugby Paul Grayson said: "It could be a bad one. Fingers crossed it might be nothing, but we will just have to wait and see."
A lengthy lay-off for full-back Reihana would be a blow to Grayson, who is already without centre John Clarke until Christmas due to a broken ankle.
Grayson conceded his side were well beaten at Kingsholm, blaming their inability to gain enough possession during the second half.
"Our lineout ball dried up in the second half, and we couldn't keep a foothold in their territory. We made too many basic errors," he added.
"I thought we were relatively comfortable at half time, but we ran out of steam.
"It was a very stop-start game, and we didn't play anything like the rugby we wanted to play. We were well below-par."
Gloucester are flying high at the top of the Guinness Premiership after their third win and head coach Dean Ryan was full of praise for his players.
Ryan's men scored three tries through James Forrester, Andy Hazell and Jack Adams during an impressive display.
"I thought we played with tremendous commitment and I cannot help but be pleased," said Ryan.
"I think the players deserve enormous credit for what they have done during the past few weeks."
