Newcastle tighthead prop Scott Wilson has agreed a new three-year contract to stay at Kingston Park.

The 21-year-old made his debut for the Falcons in the British & Irish Cup in the 2012/13 season and has since made 49 appearances for the club, including 25 in the Aviva Premiership.

He was part of the England U20s team that won the IRB Junior World Championship in 2013 and made his England Saxons debut against Ireland Wolfhounds in January 2014.

Wilson said: "It's my first club. I've been here since I was in the academy and I enjoy playing professional rugby for it. Playing Premiership rugby has been tough going and has really tested me out and provided a real challenge.

"I just want to develop, we have some really good coaches here who I get on with well and who have made the decision to stay really simple. It is my club, I like being here and I just want to keep on playing here."
