Harlequins back row Mat Luamanu has been banned for three weeks after appearing at an RFL disciplinary panel hearing.

Luamanu was found guilty of a dangerous charge, contrary to Law 10.4(g), during the Quins Aviva Premiership clash with the Sale Sharks on Friday.

The 27-year-old was sent off late in the second half at the AJ Bell Stadium when he ran into Sale's Josh Beaumont in an incident which led to the England international being taken off with concussion.

Luamanu entered a guilty plea and his suspension will rule him out of action until October 3.

RFU disciplinary panel chairman Jerry Summers said: "The panel found that this was a reckless act by the player.
