Centre to continue training at Harlequins

Former Bath and Harlequins centre Tom Cheeseman has agreed a deal with Championship outfit Esher. Cheeseman had only joined Quins in February from the Dragons on a short-term deal, but the 25-year-old was released at the end of the season. Cheeseman, though, has now become the sixth major signing at Esher - following Chris Goodman, Ian Kench, Stuart Mackie, Atkinson and Andy Wright. And director of rugby Mike Schmid is delighted with his latest acquisition, who will continue to train at Stoop as well. Schmid said: "He is a great signing for us. He's a quality guy and a quality player and he has great experience of top-level rugby.

Leader

"Obviously we lost Seb Jewell, so we were looking to bring in a replacement. Tom has vast experience of Premiership rugby and we are sure he will be a leader on and off the field. "Harlequins signed him as cover for their centres last February but he didn't get much of a chance as they were lucky with injuries. Quins think highly of him and he will continue to train with them but he is an Esher-registered player." Schmidt has confirmed he is still looking to add to his squad, with Richard Mills among those looking to secure a contract. Mills, a fly-half, is looking for a club after returning to England from Australia. Schmid said: "Richard has played at a high level and we are having a look at him over the next few weeks."
