Nigel Redman is to end his eight-year association with the RFU to become the new forwards coach at Worcester.
Redman has worked as National Academy coach, England Under-20 head coach and elite coach development manager during his time at the RFU.
However the former England lock will return to Worcester to replace Phil Davies in Richard Hill's backroom staff.
Redman, who played alongside Hill at Bath, said: "It was a tough decision to make but I'm passionate about coaching people and I'm excited about what is happening at Worcester and want to be part of that process.
"Kevin Bowring, Rob Andrew [Professional Rugby Director] and Nathan Martin [Professional Rugby General Manager] at the RFU have been very supportive in getting me to where I am and in making my decision, and now I'm looking forward to working with Richard Hill, the coaches, players and people at Worcester.
"I've worked with great people on and off the field at the RFU. Over that time there's been a rise in the number of good young players coming through and the way clubs and country have worked together has been brilliant.
"We've worked with an increasing number of coaches at Premiership and Championship level and see more and more taking their coaching badges, and the increasing number taking their skills back into clubs is very exciting for the game."
Philosophy
Worcester managing director Charlie Little said: "We are delighted to welcome Nigel to the Warriors. He was always our first choice and we believe he will work successfully alongside Richard Hill and give us a new-look coaching team that will move up the Aviva Premiership.
"Nigel in his previous roles with the RFU has proven himself to be technically a very good coach. He's also worked very closely with other sports in terms of delivering his coaching philosophy to elite athletes.
"He is very well regarded by the RFU and young English players, the likes of Matt Mullan and Matt Kvesic who have worked with him before.
"Nigel has a point to prove about delivering in the Aviva Premiership which is something that we like.
"He will help develop the right culture and values and instil the right balance in the squad. He is also been successful as a player and coach and will bring that mentality to the club."
