Gloucester have handed young centre Jack Adams a new one-year contract.
The 19-year-old, who is currently out of action with cruciate ligament damage, will now be with his hometown club until the end of the 2007 season.
Adams made his first-team debut against Sale this year and head coach Dean Ryan has high hopes for the England under-21 international.
"Jack is someone we have high hopes for and I am delighted for him that he will be staying at the club," Ryan told the club's official website.
"He is a young player with a very bright future and he has worked particularly hard since his injury
"We have recognised that and want him to be part of Gloucester's future going forward.
"He showed a glimpse of what he was capable of at the start of the year and we want to see that again."
Adams added: "To get another year is a really nice feeling.
"Gloucester is my home club and I definitely wanted to stay. I grew up in the city, went to school locally and I never wanted to leave."
