Azam and Capdevielle leave Kingsholm
Gloucester have confirmed French front-rowers Olivier Azam and Pierre Capdevielle will not be offered new deals for next season.
Azam has had two spells at Kingsholm, having made his debut in 2000 and spending three seasons with the club before returning in 2004 after a year-long stint back in France.
The 36-year-old has made 239 appearances for the Cherry and Whites, and was equally happy at hooker as he was at prop.
Former France A prop Capdevielle has played 46 times for Gloucester since joining from Brive in 2009.
Azam and Capdevielle join Dave Attwood (Bath), Alasdair Dickinson (Sale), Paul Doran-Jones (Northampton), Jordi Pasqualin (Newcastle) and Nicky Robinson (Wasps) in leaving Gloucester.
Memorable
And with the club signing the likes of Dario Chistolini and Dan Murphy, coach Bryan Redpath is happy with the look of his squad for next season.
"The current squad has been involved in a memorable season for Gloucester but it's the nature of the beast in modern rugby that players, some of whom you would desperately love to keep, move on," he said.
"This is never an easy time as every single player in the squad has played their part in the success that the club has enjoyed this season.
"I'd like to place on record my personal thanks for their efforts during their time at the club. They have all been magnificent servants.
"However, we have to move on and prepare for next season. We've already announced the signings of Dario Chistolini, Dan Murphy and Nick Runciman, are continuing to explore talk a number of other options and will make announcements at the appropriate time."
