Former England hooker to leave Northampton in the summer
Experienced former England hooker Andy Long has agreed a deal to join Gloucester in the summer.
Long, who was capped twice by England, has had previous spells at Bath, Munster, Rotherham and Newcastle Falcons before moving to Northampton Saints in 2009.
However Long will now compete with Huia Edmonds and Darren Dawidiuk for the No.2 jersey at Kingsholm.
"I've been fortunate enough to play for some great clubs in my time, but I have to admit that I'm really looking forward to joining Gloucester and playing in front of one of the most passionate crowds in rugby," he told the club's official site.
"I've always relished playing there and have experienced some great battles in front of the Shed.
"Gloucester have made some great signings for next season and I'm looking forward to playing my part in what should be an exciting season.
"In the meantime, however, I've still got work to do for the Saints and am 100 per cent committed to that. The club have been great to me and I've enjoyed my time there."
