Highly-rated New Zealand set to join London Irish
London Irish have confirmed they have agreed a two-year deal with highly-rated Crusaders back Daniel Bowden.
The 23-year-old, who can play at fly-half or inside centre, has represented New Zealand at Schools, Under-17, U19 and U21 levels.
However he will complete his switch to the Exiles in time for the start of next season.
And Irish head coach Toby Booth is delighted to have signed one of the top attack-minded backs in New Zealand.
"We rate Daniel very highly and are confident that he will have an instant impact at the club, his positional versatility is attractive as well as being a renowned goal-kicker is an additional bonus," said Booth.
"Everybody associates us with a certain brand of rugby and our recruitment of Daniel is specifically related to our ability to play that brand. Mike Catt is very excited to integrate him into our already potent attack."
Bowden made his Super debut for the Highlanders before going on to join the Crusaders at the start of the current campaign.
