Irish fly-half to concentrate on teaching
Former Northampton fly-half Barry Everitt has confirmed he has quit the sport to concentrate on teaching.
The Ireland A international racked up more than 1,200 points during a 10-year spell in the top-flight.
However after a distinguished career with both the Saints and London Irish, Everitt has now accepted a role as director of sport at Cranmore Preparatory School for Boys in Surrey.
Everitt, who won the Powergen Cup with the Exiles and the European Challenge Cup and LV= Cup with Northampton, said: "I've had an enjoyable and successful career in rugby and been fortunate to play with the leading provinces in Ireland and two famous clubs in England.
"Along the way, I've worked with great coaches and shared the playing field and training grounds with many talented players."
