Jebb Sinclair is confident there is more to come from London Irish and is looking to end the current campaign on a high.
Blueprint
While reluctant to look too far ahead, Sinclair feels the future is bright for Irish and believes they are capable of emulating the achievements of Wasps by turning their fortunes around and competing for a play-off spot next term.
He said: "Their turnaround has been so quick. Fighting for relegation last year, to being a top-four team this year, scoring some unbelievable tries and playing some good rugby home and away.
"I think that is going to the blueprint that we will try to look at. It probably just comes down to doing the simple things over and over again, as opposed to getting the complicated stuff right. There is consistency to work on, we let ourselves down a bit at Northampton, but we have had a good, long look at ourselves and are confident that we are the players we think we are and that we can grind out some wins in the next five games."
Next up for Irish is a home date with Worcester, which will form part of their St Patrick's Day party, while Sale Sharks and London Welsh are also due to visit the Madejski Stadium before the season is out.
On the Worcester game, Sinclair said: "We are definitely looking forward to having a big crowd. I don't think our fans realise how important they are to us, when they are making a lot of noise it really helps out on the field. It's going to be a packed house, an awesome day and an awesome environment.
"This is the highlight of the year. It will make it so much better if we get a win and four or five points at home."
Sinclair will be hoping to play a leading role in the Exiles' efforts over the coming weeks, with the Canada international forward of the opinion that there is more to come from him.
He said: "My season has been up and down, for sure. I got here late coming up from Super Rugby and the Currie Cup. I have been pretty good in patches, but every player has to take a loss on the chin and when we're losing, obviously I'm not playing good enough. But I have been pretty happy so far and hopefully in the next five games we can continue playing good rugby and keep putting pressure on the boys."
