London Wasps have been penalised for playing an ineligible player in the LV= Cup.
The Adams Park outfit have been deducted a point in the pool stages of the competition after they played Wasps academy back row Joe Burton in the match against Exeter Chiefs on November 6.
"There was no intention to cheat or gain any advantage over the opposition in the selection of Joe Burton," said tournament director Terry Burwell.
"His selection came about as a result of a misunderstanding by London Wasps thinking that he was dual-registered with Rosslyn Park and therefore appeared on the player registration list. This was not the case."
