Wasps have signed bolstered their second-row options by signing Namibian lock Heinz Koll until the end of the season.

Latest recruit won't be able to play in the Amlin Challenge Cup

Wasps have signed Namibian lock Heinz Koll until the end of the season. Koll, who played in all four of his country's games at last year's World Cup, scoring a try in the pool fixture against Wales, will join compatriot Tinus du Plessis at the Aviva Premiership club. The arrival of the 28-year-old is a timely boost for Wasps, as they are currently short of options in the second row due to a lengthy injury list. "Heinz will bring with him a great amount of physicality which I was impressed with during his time at the World Cup," director of rugby Dai Young told the club's official website. "It is public knowledge that we have been hit hard by injuries so his arrival will add to our currently limited options in the second row." Koll is looking forward to playing in England, though he will not be available for selection in the Amlin Challenge Cup. "The Premiership is obviously one of the best league's in the World and I am delighted to get the chance to join Wasps," he said. "I am really looking forward to getting involved and hopefully my arrival can really add something to the squad."
