Former France international Sebastien Chabal has held talks with Harlequins and London Wasps as he looks to kick-start his career.
The popular forward is currently a free agent following his acrimonious departure from Racing Metro - with Chabal leaving by mutual consent after falling out with coach Pierre Berbizier.
Chabal is hoping to play again this season and has already looked at options in England, France, New Zealand and Japan.
Chabal, who can play at No.8 or in the second, enjoyed cult status playing in England during his stint at Sale - and he has had initial discussions with both Aviva Premiership leaders Harlequins and struggling Wasps.
Quins are keen to strengthen their resources ahead of the business end of the season, while Wasps have been keen to bolster a squad ravaged by serious injuries.
Top 14 outfit Lyon have also opened talks with the 34-year-old with Lyon a view to him joining next season.
