All change at Wasps

15 players exit Adams Park

London Wasps have confirmed 15 members of their current squad will leave in the summer. Wasps endured a miserable campaign and they only avoided the drop by one point despite losing to bottom club Newcastle in the final week of the season. However director of rugby Dai Young has already started to shape his side for next season with the signings of Tom Palmer, James Haskell, Rhys Thomas, Phil Swainston, Stephen Jones, Lee Thomas, Will Taylor and Ashley Johnson. And Wasps, who are on the brink of being taken over, have now announced their departures as they look for a fresh start next season.

Balanced

The exits of Riki Flutey (Black Rams), Ben Broster (Biarritz) and Rob Webber (Bath) were already known, but the release of former England Sevens star Richard Haughton is more of a surprise. Bob Baker, Jeremy Castex, James Harris, Charlie Ingall, Joe Burton and Chris Elder have also been told they will not get new deals, while Heinz Koll, Victor Gresev, Ed O'Donoghue, Tom Prydie and Lee Robinson - who all arrived during the season on short-term deals - have all failed to extend their stays. Young said: "I would like to thank all of the players departing for their efforts in the London Wasps shirt and wish them all the best in the future. "We are looking to develop a balanced squad with more depth than the season just gone so we are hopeful there will be more arrivals and contract extensions to come, though undoubtedly our planning has been difficult while the club's financial future has been unclear."
