Winger's international commitments end hopes of a new deal
Argentina winger Horacio Agulla is to leave Leicester at the end of the season after being told he will not be offered a new deal.
Agulla has made 35 appearances for the Tigers since joining from Brive in 2010.
However with Argentina set to join New Zealand, Australia and South Africa in the new-look southern hemisphere Rugby Championship, Agulla could miss the opening weeks of the season.
And with a tight salary cap to work within, Tigers boss Richard Cockerill has opted to turn his attentions elsewhere.
"He's a bit disappointed, as we are a little bit, but you have to make tough choices," Cockerill said.
"Unfortunately for him that's the case and that may be the case for lots of the Argentine players because you will never have them for the pre-season.
"They only turn up half way through the season to play for you and that will be a difficult one for lots of people."
With Alesana Tuilagi also set to depart Welford Road in the summer - the Samoa international is weighing up an offer to play in Japan - strengthening his wide options remain a priority for Cockerill.
Worcester's Miles Benjamin is one player Cockerill is keen on - although the Tigers face stiff competition from Northampton for the England Saxons star.
