Hurricanes forward to arrive at The Rec after World Cup

Bath have announced the signing of Samoan tighthead prop Anthony Perenise on a three-year contract. Currently playing for the Hurricanes in Super Rugby, Perenise will join up with the Bath squad following the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Bath director of rugby Sir Ian McGeechan expressed his delight at capturing the forward, capped seven times by Samoa. "Anthony is an experienced international prop, who is not only a very powerful and technically accurate scrummager, but he is also incredibly mobile around the pitch, which will make him a very big threat for opposing teams," he said. "He is a good character, who will fit in well within the rest of the squad, and we look forward to welcoming him here at Bath." Perenise said he was looking forward to being part of Bath's 'exciting' future. "I am very excited to be joining such a prestigious club as Bath. It has always been an ambition of mine to play Northern Hemisphere rugby, and Bath are a club really going places, and I want to be part of that," he said.
