Brumbies skipper Ben Mowen has recovered from a neck injury and will start against his former side the Waratahs in Saturday's derby clash at Canberra Stadium. Mowen missed out on his team's win over the Lions last week, but returns to contention in time to face the franchise he left during the off-season. The addition of the flanker is one of three changes to the Brumbies side that enjoyed a profitable trip to South Africa. All the alterations appear in the pack, with Sam Carter coming into the second row and Dan Palmer returning at tighthead prop. Peter Kimlin and Ruaidhri Murphy move to the bench as a result of the changes while Scott Sio and Leon Power miss out on a spot in the matchday 22.

Timani starts

Tongan lock Sitaleki Timani has been included in the Waratahs' starting XV for Saturday's clash. Timani, who earned his Test debut for Australia last year, will make his first starting appearance of the Super Rugby season, having returned from an off-season stint in Japan. He is the only change made to the XV that went down 37-33 to the Crusaders at Sydney Football Stadium last Sunday and returns to the venue where he helped sink the Brumbies 29-22 last season with a try in the final minute of play.
