ACT Brumbies lock Sam Carter undergoes scan on knee injury

Australian lock Sam Carter will miss the penultimate week of the Super Rugby campaign after sustaining a knee injury on Friday.
The second-row forward will undergo scans on the injury, which came after Carter twisted his knee in the ACT Brumbies’ 22-16 win over the Bulls in Canberra.
It comes as a blow to the Wallabies, as lock forward is a department in which coach Michael Cheika does not have the resources he has in other areas of his squad.
Carter had been mentioned as a candidate to play in July’s Rugby Championship - in which Australia play New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina - but now seems unlikely to finish the season with the Brumbies.
"I imagine he won't be playing next week," Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham said. "Like any Test player, international player, it's going to be a loss to your team.
"He had a bit of a spell out of the game but I thought the last couple of weeks he's really played exceptionally well.
"But I think we're lucky we've got good experience in the second row with Blake Enever and Rory Arnold.
"I think those guys have gained enough experience throughout the year to be able to fill the shoes that Carts leaves."
