Captain Cobus Grobbelaar has been ruled out for the Lions' final game of the season.

Captain Cobus Grobbelaar has been ruled out for the Lions' final game of the season against the Cheetahs. Wikus van Heerden will move across to cover Grobbelaar at seven, with Franco van der Merwe promoted into the back row. Coach Dick Muir has also named Marius Delport and Jaco Taute in the centres for the winless Lions, with Deon van Rensburg named on the wing and Walter Venter dropping out the squad. The Cheetahs are sweating over the fitness of Meyer Bosman after the centre suffered a torn muscle in the chest. Corné Uys is poised to step in from the wing should Bosman fail a late fitness test, with Wilmaure Louw coming into the starting XV. The Cheetahs go into the game, though, with Danwel Demas unavailable through injury.
