Sevens star leaves Cheetahs for Italy
The Cheetahs have agreed to released South Africa Sevens star Danwel Demas after agreeing a transfer fee with Viadana.
Demas will now miss the Currie Cup campaign in order to team up with the Italians on July 1.
Demas has agreed a one-year deal with Viadana, who will play under the banner of Aironi in the Magners League.
And despite losing the winger, Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské, who has already lined up a replacement, insists Demas leaves with the club's best wishes.
"He's got a great opportunity overseas and we felt it would be good for his career if he used it," said Drotské.
