Castres have bolstered their back division for next season with the signing of Daniel Kirkpatrick from the Hurricanes.
The 23-year-old is currently in his second spell at the Wellington-based franchise, having spent the 2010 season at the Blues.
However he has struggled for game time this season, with the in-form Beauden Barrett the preferred option in the No.10 jersey.
And Kirkpatrick, who has been capped at Under-20s level by New Zealand, has now opted to make the switch to the Top 14.
Kirkpatrick has agreed a three-year deal with Castres and he will make the switch following the completion of his provincial commitments with Hawke's Bay.
Castres are also hoping to agree a new deal with James So'oialo - with the New Zealand-born centre having initially arrived as cover for the injured Lamerat Remi.
