Flying winger signs new two-year deal
The Reds have agreed a new two-year deal with flying winger Rod Davies.
The 21-year-old winger, dubbed the Rocket, scored five tries in eight appearances for the Reds in his debut season.
And Davies, who joined the Reds from Brisbane Broncos, admitted that it was an easy decision to put pen to paper on a new deal.
"Everything has been going really well and I'm happy to stay here," he said.
"I didn't want to go anywhere else with the way the team has been going and I didn't really look anywhere else to be honest.
"We're really building something here and hopefully in the future we can go on to bigger and better things. If we can build on this season, there are exciting things to look forward to in the future."
Reds head coach Ewen McKenzie believes that Davies can only get better as a player.
"Rocket scored some exciting tries this season and really got the crowd on its feet every time he touched the ball," said McKenzie.
"The great thing is that he's still only young and has plenty of improvement left in his game.
"Because of the work he'd put in he emerged from the pack at the start of the year made people sit up and take notice.
"He typifies the way a number of players have stepped up and taken their opportunity when it was presented. We only had a handful of Wallabies at the start of the season but now guys like Rod are being spoken about as possibly being in the mix (for selection)."
