South Africa back-row set to face the Stormers

Sharks back-row Willem Alberts has been passed fit for selection for the Super Rugby derby with the Stormers at Newlands. The South Africa international was forced to sit out the opening-day loss to the Bulls with a shoulder injury. However the 27-year-old has now returned to training ahead and should play some part against the Stormers. Ryan Kankowski is also set to be fit for the encounter after x-rays revealed the No.8 did not break his hand against the Bulls. The news, though, is not as promising for centre Tim Whitehead, who has damaged his groin and is now facing a race against time to face his former side. Meanwhile the Sharks have confirmed prop Tendai "Beast" Mtawarira is being treated for a heart condition. The 26-year-old is currently sidelined with a fractured ankle and Mtawarira is using his time out to receive treatment for heart palpitations.
