Bristol have named former England captain Steve Borthwick as their new forwards coach.
Borthwick will join up with the Championship side in early November after he formed part of Japan's coaching team during the Rugby World Cup.
Japan defeated South Africa, Samoa and the United States but became the first team in the history of the tournament to win three pool matches without qualifying for the quarter-finals.
Borthwick, who captained Bath and Saracens during his playing career and won 57 Test caps, will now turn his attention to helping Bristol gain promotion to the Aviva Premiership.
"It's an exciting opportunity for me to work with such a talented group of players," Borthwick told Bristol's official website.
"Bristol prides itself on the strength and dynamism of the forward pack, and I am eager to continue that philosophy."
Former England and Scotland head coach Andy Robinson, now director of rugby at Bristol, is also thrilled Borthwick is coming to Ashton Gate.
"I am delighted to welcome someone of Steve's calibre to the coaching set-up at Bristol," said Robinson.
"Steve can bring his experience of winning trophies to our squad, and he will be an asset to the development of our young players."
