Saracens prop calls it a day after suffering neck injury
Saracens prop Richard Skuse announced his retirement from rugby on Thursday because of a neck injury.
The former Bristol and London Irish forward suffered the injury while playing for Sarries' reserve side in November and specialist medical advice has left him with no option other than to hang up his boots.
The 30-year-old said: "People say there is something special happening at Saracens, and it's the truth.
"I am obviously disappointed to be retiring, but the club has been fantastically supportive ever since I arrived in north London, not only on the field but also by inspiring and encouraging me to sign up for courses and prepare for life beyond my playing career."
Sarries chairman Nigel Wray added: "Richard has given excellent service to the club, and everybody wishes him well for the future."
