Sale Sharks centre Mark Jennings has signed a new two-year contract with the Aviva Premiership club.

Jennings, now 24, became the youngest player ever to sign for the Sharks as a 16-year-old in 2009.

"Mark has come through the ranks at Sharks," Sale rugby director Steve Diamond told the club's official website.

"He has stayed loyal to the club since joining as a 16-year-old, and he will play a big part in what we are building at the club."

Jennings becomes the second Sale player to sign a contract extension this week, with forward George Nott also having put pen to paper on a five-year deal.

On signing his contract Jennings said: "I'm delighted to have a new contract. It's an exciting place to be and I want to play my part in helping the club achieve its ambitions."

Fellow Sale players Josh Beaumont, Mike Haley, Bryn Evans, TJ Ioane, Will Addison and Ross Harrison have all recently signed new three-year deals, while Cameron Neild, Paolo Odogwu and Sam James penned four-year extensions and twin brothers and flankers Tom and Ben Curry signed for five more years.
