Sale Sharks deny rumoured moves for James O'Connor and Faf de Klerk

Sale chief Steve Diamond has dismissed reports linking the club with James O'Connor and Faf de Klerk.

Australia international O'Connor plays for Toulon in France, while South African De Klerk plays for the Lions in Super Rugby.

Sale's director of rugby Diamond said: "I have not spoken to either player and don't know where the speculation has come from.

"We have announced several new signings recently and we are in negotiations with several more players. Once they sign a Sharks contract we will make announcements."
