Australia head coach Michael Cheika will name two entirely different sides for their opening Rugby World Cup matches against Fiji and Uruguay.

Australia's selection strategy has been influenced by the Wallabies' World Cup draw, which sees them take on Fiji in their Pool A opener on September 23 before playing Uruguay in their second game four days later and then facing hosts England on October 3.

Cheika is aware that playing a full-strength side three times with such a short turnaround could create an injury risk to the squad.

"Every individual is only focused on the one game, except for the subs, so they'll have to do a bit of isolating themselves to the Fiji game alone," Cheika said on the Australian Rugby Union's official website.

"But every player who knows where they are going to be playing in the first two matches will be thinking about only their first game and that's it."

The Wallabies coach admits being drawn in such a tough World Cup group is far from ideal but insists his side are ready for the challenge.

"That's the way it is, you know, and we are just going to play," Cheika said. "There is no feeling comfortable in our group and that's the way it should be because that's life and it's the World Cup.

"We are going to have to earn everything we get and that's definitely something we want to do, we don't want to be given anything."
