Former Bath fly-half and New Zealand international Stephen Donald has rejoined Waikato after a spell in Japan.

Donald, who played for Bath from 2011 until 2013, returns to the province for which he played 55 matches between 2004 and 2011.

He kicked the penalty which clinched New Zealand's 8-7 win over France in the 2011 World Cup final, giving the All Blacks the title for the first time in 24 years.

Donald was an unlikely hero, having been called up to the World Cup squad while on a fishing trip and only because of injuries to Dan Carter and Colin Slade.
