Glasgow prop Ryan Grant may not play again this season after having surgery on his injured bicep.

Grant was injured in training last week and the operation is set to sideline him for around three months, leaving him in a battle against time to play again before the end of the campaign.

He is not the only Glasgow player facing an extended time out, with hooker Pat MacArthur set to miss the next six weeks.

MacArthur injured his hamstring against Ulster earlier this month and a scan at Ross Hall Hospital showed enough damage to sideline him until April.

It will be his second significant absence of the season after missing six weeks at the end of 2015 with a fractured jaw - MacArthur has since signed a new deal with Glasgow through the end of the 2018 season.
