Edinburgh coach confident of chances

Edinburgh coach Rob Moffat believes his new signings can help lift the club to new levels this season. Moffat has bolstered his side with Scotland centre Alex Grove, Argentina lock Esteban Lozada and Fiji back-row Netani Talei, as well as young prop Jack Gilding. And although he has lost the likes of Ally Hogg, Jim Hamilton and Simon Cross, he is confident his new additions. Moffat said: "We had a good look at the make-up of the squad and I think we've got it spot on. "Last year, we had 35 Scots and Tim Visser, who did really well as the only non-Scot in the mix. "If we're going to sign non-Scots, we have to make sure it's the right person, because with only two professional teams, we have to develop Scottish talent. "I'm confident we've brought in the right kind of players with the right kind of character. "Alex Grove will add to a midfield mix that was already competitive, and Esteban Lozada and Netani Talei will each contribute something different. "They're experienced players who have played in top leagues, and they'll come at it from a different angle. They'll be good for the team and good for the coaches."
