Former Scotland prop to take charge of the forwards
Relegated Lyon have confirmed the appointment of former British and Irish Lions prop Tom Smith as their new forwards coach.
Smith, who previously had a spell playing in France with Brive, makes the switch from Edinburgh, where he spent two seasons looking after the pack.
The 40-year-old Smith also has experience working with the Northampton forwards, having combined coaching with playing for the Premiership outfit during his final season at the club.
The Scotland international will now work under head coach Xavier Sadourny, with Lyon determined to bounce back at the first attempt.
And Smith will have plenty of quality to look after in the Lyon pack, with the ambitious outfit having already signed the likes of international trio Sebastien Chabal, Lionel Nallet and Huw Bennett.
