Irish No.9 makes switch from Ulster
Doncaster have confirmed the signing of former Ireland Under-20s scrum-half Michael Heaney from Ulster.
The 22-year-old, who won the Six Nations title with Ireland U20s in 2010, comes is to bolster the club's options at No.9 after Lee Audis suffered serious injuries in a road accident and Dan White was recalled by Leeds.
Heaney has predominately played for Ulster's development XV as well as for feeder club Belfast Harlequins
Knights director of rugby Brett Davey told the club's official site: "We are delighted to welcome Michael, he has many strings to his bow and will provide more options to the team. We are lucky to have him here and I hope he will make a big impact.
"We tried to sign an English qualified scrum-half, but there were none available of high enough standard. Michael met what we were after and we are excited to have him at Castle Park."
