Australian announces plans to leave at the end of the season

Paul Warwick has confirmed that he will be leaving Munster at the end of the season. The 29-year-old Australian came close joining London Irish in 2009 but agreed to extend his stay at Thomond Park for two seasons. However a number of clubs are now believed to be interested in signing Warwick, who previously played for Connacht before joining Munster in 2007. "We felt the need to address the recent speculation about my future by confirming my intention to move," said Warwick. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here with Munster and hope I can contribute in helping the squad achieve the goals we set for ourselves at the start of the season." Munster coach Tony McGahan admitted he was disappointed by the news, but insisted he understood the reasons behind Warwick's decision. "He has been a quality player who significantly contributed at both full-back and fly-half over the past four seasons," he said. "We understand the reasons for his decision and he leaves with our best wishes both professionally and personally."
