Irish-qualified second row heads to Dublin

Tom Denton has secured a dream move to Heineken Cup finalists Leinster following his release by Leeds Carnegie. Denton came through the academy set-up at Headingley after being snapped up from Malton and Norton as a youngster. However the 24-year-old was one of a number of players who left Leeds at the end of a disappointing campaign that saw the club fail to win promotion back to the Premiership at the first attempt. Denton, though, is now set to be playing alongside some of Europe's leading players after agreeing a two-year deal with Leinster. Denton, who made 60 appearances for Leeds, qualifies for the Ireland - and will compete with the likes of Devin Toner and Leo Cullen for a place in the second row. Denton will be joined in Dublin by tighthead prop Michael Bent with the 25-year-old to complete his switch from the Hurricanes at the end of the Super Rugby season.
